Study for the European Parliament "Towards a European policy for mountains: issues, impacts and adaptation measures necessary", 1998
Following consultation with the Research Directorate of the European Parliament, ICALP was chosen for this study. ICALP was surrounded by a group of experts representing different professional skills and with extensive experience in different mountain ranges in Europe.
The study resulted in a very detailed comparative analysis of the situation of mountain areas in the various mountain ranges in Europe, national policies in favor of the mountains in the Member States and candidate of the union, and community rules . It led to the formulation of 42 specific proposals for improving these regulations forming part of a broader strategy to move towards a real European policy for the mountains.
The study was used to present a report to the European Parliament, which served as reference in drafting and adoption of a resolution on his part.
