Initiative for a model forests network in Africa, Part Maghreb

In 2009, following the intervention for the creation and assistance to the animation of the Mediterranean Network of Model Forests (RMFM), the International Model Forest Network (Canada) proposed to ICALPE to assist in initiating and coordination component Maghreb "initiative for a model forests network in Africa ", launched by Canada (with two target regions: the Maghreb, and the Congo Basin).modèles en Afrique» lancée par le Canada (avec deux régions cibles : le Maghreb, et le bassin du Congo).

Maghreb ICALPE was asked to draft a proposal on how to proceed and get in touch with the relevant authorities in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia to host the first exchanges.

The first reconnaissance mission on site was successful in May 2009 and ICALPE must participate in two other missions in each country that will help Canada set late 2009's three-year plan of cooperation for the Maghreb, always association with the Mediterranean Network of Model Forests, and to support its development.
