THE « VILLAGES » project has been approved by the ENPI CBCMED

Submitted during the first call for proposals for standard projects, the 20th of October 2009, the « VILLAGES »  project for the « Transfer of know-how in the Mediterranean for the sustainable development of local communities of the less favored rural areas », has been approved by the ENPI CBC MED Programme for cross-border co-operation in the Mediterranean.

The project is part of a selection of about 30 projects among the 598 ones submitted at the Mediterranean basin level.

 

With ICALPE as Lead Partner, the project has partners from all over the Mediterranean area, such as:

  • the Ministry of Agriculture, in Lebanon,
  • the Juhoud NGO, Palestinian Authority,
  • the LAORE Agency for Sardinia, in Italy,
  • the A.P.E.L. Association for employment and housing, in Tunisia,
  • the Regional Centre for information technology and software engineering, in Egypt,
  • the Municipality of Moratalla, in Spain and
  • the Local Union for municipalities and communities of the Prefecture of Chios, in Greece.

 

Looking forward to signing the subsidy contract with the Joint Managing Authority of the Programme, the partnership is preparing for the start up of the project quickly.
